Having Fun on the 30th Birthday with a Big Party

Saturday, September 29th, 2007

By Gail Leino The big 30th birthday is a very special occasion for many. It can be a huge milestone signifying true adulthood, although many view turning 30th as a deadline. By the time you hit thirty youre supposed to have a good job, house, mate and so on and this artificial deadline can cause some people to be sad on their thirtieth. There is no need for this. The big Three O should be a time of happiness and a chance to reflect on how much has been accomplished in your life and on your own schedule. A fun party to hold on the 30th birthday is a reversal party. Frost the cake and put it upside down on the platter, put those candles in upside down, have everyone wear their clothes inside out. This is a great party because of the stereotype that turning thirty means becoming mature, when in reality it means whatever you want it to mean. Guests bringing presents to a reversal party can give a few gag gifts like an unpresent or simply an empty gift wrapped box. Have that upside down cake on some really colorful paper plates with 30th emblazoned on them. Dont forget the cups, napkins and tablecloths. The How Old Pens make great party favors to hand out. They are nifty little pens that can be personalized with a rotating message such as; Jack is 30/On September 4th that guests will love to take home with them. The average How Old Pen can hold four lines of birthday message. The 30th year is also considered the pearl year. Have a party that matches this idea with an Under the Sea theme. You can put up banners with the happy birthday message on a background of fish, sand or an oyster with a pearl in its shell. You can also find colorful napkins, plates, and tablecloths with tropical fish on them. Natural, All Natural, Holistically-Natural or Pseudo-natural? - That is the Question

Thursday, September 27th, 2007

By Danny Siegenthaler You may have realised that recently everything you look at claims to be ‘natural’, but what is natural? Does it referrer to everything that the product contains? Is it some of the ingredients in the product that are natural? Or is a single ingredient, which was isolated from an originally natural source, the only thing that is natural about the product? These are just some of the questions that are confusing customers today and in many cases claims by some manufacturers of that their products are natural, are misleading, if not totally false all together. Let’s look at what natural actually is defined to be: relating to nature, in accordance with the usual course of nature, present in or produced by nature, rather than being artificial or created by people, not artificially coloured or treated. That does not really tell us all that much, but let’s think about the images that this word, natural, may create in our minds. Natural - natural scene, nature’s playground such as the beach the mountains, virgin woods and forests, beautiful lakes and so on. It also reminds us of natural substances, smells of flowers, the air just after rain, animals in their natural habitat and so on. When it comes to products, be they for consumption or personal care, we tend to think of ‘natural flavours’ as opposed to artificial flavouring, natural preservatives versus artificial ones, but what is a natural ingredient and how could we define it better? Here is where things get a little murky because there are many ways we can think of a substance as being natural or not natural. For example, let’s use my favourite - Aspirin. The active ingredient in Aspirin tables is Salicylic acid. Salicylic acid is naturally found in the bark of the White Willow tree. Thus, Salicylic acid is a natural substance and if extracted from the bark, rather than recreated synthetically in a laboratory, you could say this is a natural product. But is it? Strictly speaking a liquid made from say water and Salicylic acid, would be natural and fit the definition of ‘as found in nature’, but let’s look at another way to get the same therapeutic effect from the properties of the White Willow bark. Herbal medicine uses the whole bark and utilises traditional methods to extract the ingredients from the bark. One of these ingredients is the Salicylic acid, but it’s just one of the ingredients. There are many more which do not help to numb pain or do very much to help relieve pain, but they do work on balancing the effects of Salicylic acid. We know that this acid can and does irritate the lining of the Stomach and that is why many of the companies that make Aspirin will put warnings on their labels and make suggestions of taking Aspirin with food and so on. Using the whole extract however, will include the modifying ingredients from the bark, which will protect the Stomach’s lining and yet the Salicylic acid will still work on reducing the pain. Now, which do you think is the ‘natural’ product? The one that uses a single naturally derived ingredient in a liquid, or the other one, which uses the more complete set of ingredients found in the White Willow bark? This point could be debated forever and both these could be called natural, depending on YOUR DEFINITION. My definition is that the products with the single isolated ingredient, is not natural because it misses many of the naturally contained substances that form part of the bark of the White Willow. For the purpose of this discussion, let’s say that the Aspirin at the Chemist or Drug store, containing Salicylic acid, was extracted from the bark; it’s not, but let’s pretend. In addition, let’s pretend that the Salicylic acid was in pure water, again, this is not the case, but just pretend with me for a little longer. That would mean, that there are basically two ingredients in the Aspirin, the first is the Salicylic acid and the second is pure water. Thus, you could say that this product was 100% natural or all natural, couldn’t you? Of course, there is nothing artificial, the ingredients are found in nature, so it’s natural. So what does that make the herbal extract, more natural? Well, it contains more ingredients whose origins are found in nature. Here is the dilemma, both are natural, both have taken all their ingredients from nature, so can we find a way to differentiate between the Aspirin from the Chemist/Drug store (it’s 100% natural…) and the Aspirin from the Herbalist (it’s 100% natural…)? Let me introduce a ‘new’ term “Holistically-natural”, what do I mean by this term? I propose, that this term may be of use to describe the type of product that has not been overly modified. That means, “Holistically-natural” would accept the alcohol extraction of all the ingredients, but would not except the additional step of extracting the Salicylic acid out of the alcohol-extracted ingredients. Similarly, essential oils are extracted from their parent plant by a variety of means, including, cold-pressed, steam distillation and others. “Holistically-natural”, would be applicable to essential oils, which have been extracted by the most appropriate form, but would not apply to further isolation, or manipulation of the derived essential oil. The reason for providing this ‘new’ term is to differentiate our “Natural Aspirin” from the Chemist with the Herbal extract of the White Willow bark used by herbalists. Both of products will help reduce pain, but only the latter containing a more complete set of the ingredients from the White Willow’s bark will help mitigate the possible irritating side effect of Salicylic acid on the lining of the Stomach. Thus, the herbalist’s version of the product would be “Holistically-natural”. Now, the skin and personal care industry is full of claims of ‘natural’ skin care products, and many manufacturers are abusing the term natural to the extreme. Using an isolated, naturally occurring chemical from a plant is, as we’ve seen, not what natural implies. Let’s look at the definition again: Natural means present in or produced by nature… Well, a single ingredient may well be present in and produced by nature, but nature itself does not use it in isolation. Nature uses it in balance with other associated chemicals - holistically. In the skin care industry, not only do creams and lotions often contain many different ingredients in order to achieve the claims by the manufacturer for a given product, but most of the time, the ingredients are a list of naturally derived, but not holistically-natural, ingredients, together with non-natural chemicals that do not have their origin in nature at all. Examples of this would include emulsifiers, colours, flavours, preservatives, etc. Some manufacturers bend the rules even further. Any substance that contains the chemical element Carbon is by definition an ‘organic chemical’. That is what ‘Organic Chemistry’ (Bio-Chemistry) is based on. Now, organic skin care therefore, may well be skin care that contains Carbon-based chemicals that may not occur naturally in nature, but because they contain carbon, they can be termed organic - do you see where I’m going with this? The term Organic is supposed to indicate that there were no artificial or synthetic products used to grow, say vegetables. Thus, there are no inorganic substances such as inorganic fertiliser, pesticides, herbicides, etc., present in the plant or the soil the plant was grown in. Many less ethical manufacturers will use the term organic to attract the consumers who are looking for ‘organic skin or personal care products’, but will actually sell them a product, which is not organic in the true sense of indicating free of in-organic substances, grown using organic farming methods, etc. Don’t misunderstand me, I’m not saying that all companies that claim to have organic skin care products are misleading you, far from it, however, there are some that do and it is sometimes difficult to establish which is the one that uses the term organic in the ‘holistically-natural’ way. We at Wildcrafted Herbal Products belief that holistically natural skin and personal care products are the only way to go. They are safer, better for you and easier for your body to make use of. The concept of holistically natural, follows the principle of ‘the less processed a product is, the better it is for you’. Building A Moulding Bench For The Hobby Foundry

Wednesday, September 26th, 2007

By Colin Croucher If you’re going to spend a good part of your spare time working in your hobby foundry, then you’ll need to have the best possible equipment & gear that you can afford. And there is no need to go out and spend a small fortune, if you are resourceful you can do a lot your self. If you have the ability to fabricate & weld steel, then the best way is toself-build, you can custom design & build a moulding bench exactly theway you want it. And if you don’t know how to fabricate and weld then building a mouldingbench will provide a learning experience in basic fabrication and arcwelding skills. It’s not hard; and it’s a lot of fun, & quite rewarding when you can complete worthwhile projects your self. In the 3-Vol-foundry ebook, we illustrate a moulding bench constructed from second-hand steel tube, 3/4″ thick MDF board for bench top, it is mounted on casters for mobility around the shed. When not being used for making moulds it can be used for other purposes in the workshop. To protect the bench top, it is wise to clad the MDF with 16g sheet metal, preferably with a zinc or galvanised coating to prevent rust occurring, which will happen if you use green sand for moulding, because it holds quite a bit moisture, and will corrode plain sheet metal. Moulding Bench Dimensions - What is the right size for you? Most tables & benches are made to standard heights, these heightsare determined from the average human being size… but what if you’renot AVERAGE, you might be quite tall or very short, nothing is moreuncomfortable than working at a bench that’s not tuned to your height. So think carefully when you construct your own moulding bench. You don’t want to have to bend over the bench too far as this will give a back ache, make it too high, and you wont be able to carry out your moulding work properly. Measure the heights of various tables and benchesaround your house which are generally made to recommended table or bench heights, try these out in an imaginary way, and then adjust slightly up or down to suit your height and no one else, simply because you will be the one working on the bench. A good way to see what bench height is best for you is to place yourmould boxes on a normal table; imagine you are about to start workin your foundry. Make an assessment to see if the table is to high, or to low, or perhaps it’s just right, make an informed decision and then build your new moulding bench to suit you. You will be spending a lot of time ramming and making sand moulds, somake sure the bench height is the most comfortable possible. You should also think about storage areas underneath your moulding bench, design your bench to store your sand bins, moulding boxes, bottom boards, tins of parting powder, and other hand tools used in your hobby foundry. GSM Phone Rentals

Sunday, September 23rd, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=John_Dulaney]John Dulaney However, it is most likely that your GSM phone will not work overseas. Even if you have a GSM phone, it is likely that the version that you have is different from the one used overseas. Most cellular providers will rent you a phone, compatible to the frequencies used overseas. You will need to look around for the best deal in renting, that is available in the market today. For information regarding renting, visit www.planetomni.com/RENT_INFO.shtml for more details regarding the prices of renting a quad or tri-band GSM handset. Now that you have a phone, the next is the SIM card. SIM Cards are available for all major countries in the world, and for global roaming as well. These SIM cards are prepaid, where you do not need to enter into any contract with the service provider. This prepaid SIM card will save you atleast 80% of your communication cost. All the out-going calls are charged at local rates, with free incoming calls. These cards are available with airtime credits included and are available in different denominations. The price of such a card includes the set up fee for the SIM card, which is a fixed amount, and includes the basic price of the airtime credit along-with. You have the option in buying more airtime credits along-with the card. As you use up your credit limit, you may use re-charge vouchers of varied amounts to top up your airtime credits. These credits are available in terms of the value that you have put in and not as unit of calls or time. With such a prepaid country specific SIM card, you have a lower expense for your international calls, as you do not pay for any roaming charges. To sum up the prepaid country specific and global roaming SIM cards, you generally get: A credit for a starter airtime when you buy the card. All incoming calls are free no matter where it generates from. Lower rates for international calls. No roaming charges on the calls that you make. All outgoing calls are charged at local rates. Free incoming SMS. You get that country specific number. Etc. You need to bear in mind that anyone can use your prepaid SIM card. If you lose your phone with the SIM card inside, you will need to call up the customer service to de-activate your SIM card so that no one else can use it. In this situation, your SIM card cannot be replaced. With the combination of an appropriate GSM phone and SIM card, you have a freedom to communicate anywhere and have a substantial saving as well. Though you will not be able to retain the number that you have at home, you may like to leave your new contact number in the voicemail, so that people trying to get in touch with you would know the number to get in touch with. The mobile phone that you wish to hire, will come to you with the necessary accessories like the battery charger. Most of the service providers will provide you with voicemail in your new mobile phone. If you are traveling to more than one country, you may change your country specific SIM card accordingly or better still, you may like to buy the international SIM card which will allow you to roam in most of the countries in the world, letting you have the same features or facilities as a country specific SIM card. Since your rented GSM mobile phone is given to you in an unlocked condition, you may use any SIM card that you like with that handset. On your next visit overseas, rent a SIM card for country that you are visiting with your mobile. Rent a the mobile for which-ever country you are going to and you may purchase the SIM as well. Cell phone use overseas. In 99% of the world the local cellular service standard is called GSM. We use this in the states as well. When combined with a SIM CARD (which usually goes under the battery of the phone) the phone is able to communicate and the SIM CARD also holds the telephone number and memory for pre-paid credit. Rates can be extremely low using this system. For example in 99% of all SIM CARDS incoming calls are free and calls to the states can cost a trifle. Such as, from the UK to the USA 7 cents/minute, from Israel 22 cents, from Australia 27 cents. Yes, USA Dollar cents! There are today even prepaid service providers in the USA offering rates of 10 cents per minute to call anywhere in the US to any type of phone. No contracts, no credit card checks, no bills. Pre-paid always means no minimums no contracts, no obligations. You only pay for the calls made. You’ll need an unlocked GSM tri-band or quadband UNLOCKED phone. You can buy factory unlocked phones and sim cards for more than 170 or the 193 countries on earth from http://www.planetomni.com Tel. # 800-514-2984 Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=John_Dulaney http://EzineArticles.com/?GSM-Phone-Rentals&id=294626 buy herbal phentermine phentermine diet pills without a prescription buy phentermine master card order phentermine online cod

Atkins Diet: An Overview

Sunday, September 23rd, 2007

By Luke Sanger In the past, it has become a household way of life to eat bread, rice, fruit and other healthy foods that are supposed to help you lose weight. Dr. Atkins began a journey in the early 70s that was going to change all of that. Any diet that puts eggs, cheese, and meat before the aforementioned healthy foods is complete and utter blasphemy. A recent study was done to disprove the Atkins Diet yet after three months, the overweight men and women had lost an average of 8.6 kilograms, 4.5 more than people on the standard high-carb approach. So, all in all, if a person wants to lose the weight and help make their lives healthier and happier, Our Atkins package is right for you. This study only backs up the fact that Atkins is the way to go if you want to lose weight and keep the weight off. Another important thing to point out is that this type of diet isnt something to just do for a while and then stop all together. It takes some commitment, but once you see the results of the easy plan that is included in our package, than you will most certainly want to keep living this diet and you will see amazing results. Dr. Atkins discovered through vast amounts of tests and also through trial and error there are four distinct phases of the Atkins diet, and they are as follows: Phase 1: Induction This first phase is going to be the most limiting of the four phases a typical Atkins Dieter will have to go through. The diet is going to take the body through the most rigorous weight loss overall and will be the most uncomfortable for the dieter as well. If a dieter can make it through Induction, they will be home free for the remainder of the diet. As talked about before, the body will enter a state of Ketosis that in a nutshell trains the body to burn stored fat cells instead of glucose. Ketosis is a state the body goes into when there is no more expendable glucose to burn, so in order for the body to maintain energy, it must find other sources of energy to metabolize. The nutritional values of the amount of food a person undergoing this stage of the Atkins diet are limited to a moderate amount of meat, only 20 net grams of carbohydrates a day, no more than two cups of salad vegetables, only three tablespoons of heavy cream. Any alcoholic beverages or beverages that contain caffeine are not permitted. It is not uncommon for a person who is going through the Atkins weight loss plan to lose as much as 10 pounds a week. This is a normal amount of weight to lose and will taper off as the diet goes on. Phase 2: Ongoing Weight Loss (OWL) This phase is where a person must find out where there specific Critical Carbohydrate Level for Losing stands. This is done by increasing the amount of carbohydrates by 5 grams each week until you find that you arent losing as much weight. This phase will last until you have arrived to within 10 lbs. of your weight loss goal. Phase 3: Pre-maintenance Once a person has reached this phase, they are basically home free and will begin to see that the Atkins Diet is more of a lifestyle, and not one of those Get thin quick schemes. This is where they begin to increase their carbohydrates even more than in phase 2 to see how much carbs there body will allow before they start to gain the weight back that they just lost. This could possibly mean that their body will not be in Ketosis anymore, but in order for the Atkins Diet to be successful, it wont be necessary to sustain it forever. Phase 4: Lifetime maintenance This last and final phase is to make sure that a person doesnt fall back into their old way of eating and keep the Atkins Diet going strong so that they can keep the weight off instead of put it back on again. This diet is not ever really over, which is why if done correctly can make anyone a healthier person. If a person begins to gain the weight back, then it might be necessary to go back to a prior phase just to re-evaluate their given eating habits, but make sure not to be discouraged in the process because this common. http://www.atkins-weightloss.com is the leading website in Atkins Diet Materials. The Best Types Of Fish For Your Garden Pond

Saturday, September 22nd, 2007

By Anne Clarke There are many reasons as to why you might want to have fish in your garden pond they add beauty, color, and interest to your garden and act as a sort of outdoor pet. But there are other good reasons for putting fish in your pond, as well. For one, fish will eat pesky mosquitoes as well as pond algae. Overall, pond fish are also fairly easy to care for, too. Now that I have convinced you to get some fish for your garden pond, let us go over a few types of popular outdoor pond fish most outdoor pond fish are freshwater-coldwater types. Comet goldfish This type of goldfish is going to be able to handle varied conditions in your pond this includes varied conditions due to weather, as well as conditions due to your inexperience with pond fish. Comet fish can endure variations in both temperature and water quality. Comet goldfish are distinguishable by their long single tails like a comet. They come in a variety of colors, including red and white. Also, comet goldfish tend to be fairly inexpensive. Chances are, your comet gold fish will live for 14 years and grow up to 10 inches long. Shubunkin goldfish (aka calico goldfish) This is a very interesting goldfish like a common goldfish, shubunkin goldfish have long bodies and a single tail, but they are brightly colored in a mix of fantastic colors red, brown, blue, yellow, and violet. They are also distinguished by black spots on their bodies and tails. This is a very tough goldfish type. Make sure that your pond has plenty of plants and open areas for swimming. If you have shubunkin goldfish, do not put telescope goldfish or bubble eye goldfish (and other slow swimming fish) in with them they might end up starving because shubunkin goldfish will get to the food first and they do not share. Rather, you should get your shubunkins a koi or two as buddies. Koi Koi range from very inexpensive to very expensive there is quite a variety as to the type and quality of koi. By quality, I am referring to the color and patterns displayed on the kois scales. As abovementioned, koi can cohabitate with other goldfish like comets and shubunkins very well. Koi can grow to be several feet long, and they can live from 25-50 years! Some people think that koi are gold fish, but they are only distant cousins to the goldfish they are actually much more closely related to the common carp. While koi can handle a wide range of temperatures, as sudden change in temperature can affect them adversely. Koi will get along with other tropical fish, as well. Whichever type of fish that you decide to get for your pond, be sure that you get ones that will cohabitate well and ones that are durable (like the abovementioned types of fish). Also make sure that you do not try to stick too many fish in too small of a pond. Consider having only one inch of fish per gallon of pond water. A 10 foot by 10 foot pond can typically support about 20 five inch fish This math equation might be a bit too much a general rule of thumb is to start with just a few, and go from there. Remember that your fish will grow! Just a note: If you are new to having fish in your pond, you may want to avoid fantail varieties these are not quite as durable as other types of goldfish. Reading On The Move Without A PDA-All You Need Is Your Mobile Phone

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Konstantin_Frid]Konstantin Frid Displaying texts: books, news, mass media messages, helps or documents is among the most used functions of any PDA. Articles are no exception. Just download a couple of dozen of articles on whatever the subject - from a site like this one into your PDA - and read away anyplace. Before you know, you become quite familiar with the subject you read on. Yet what can one do when there is no PDA? None at all or none available at a time. However, at a time like this, there is something you never leave behind, which is… your cellular phone. Expensive modern telephones display texts, even though making reading not quite as comfortable as palmtops do. However, most cheap or outdated telephones can do the same with just about as much convenience as when using a PDA. This capability is based on a seemingly very simple idea. A text is converted into a Java application which can be loaded into a mobile phone the same way one downloads games or other applications like, for instance, a calculator. You do that and that is it. Read all you want anyplace where you have nothing but you cellular phone. For the modern person, having a mobile phone along has become more commonplace than having home keys or a wallet. And as long as you have your phone along, you can read anything you want to or must. We know several desktop PC programs that will make such Java applications for you. Different in small details, they all work alike. Install one of these programs on your desktop, start it and load in the text you need. After that, you will have to set several parameters like the type of your mobile phone, font color and size, background color, scrolling and navigation methods, etc. This done, the Java application is compiled and loaded into the mobile phone according to its manual. Read and enjoy. The functionality and capabilities of such applications are close to those of modern PDA reading programs. Normally, there is automatic scrolling, bookmark capability, navigation, text search and such. You can read comfortably even when all you have is a totally outdated cellular telephone. When you do that, just do not forget that your phone may also be used for making calls. Water Lilies - How and When to Divide and Fertilize

Monday, September 17th, 2007

By Brett Fogle Normally a good time to do this would be in early Spring, once the pond thaws out and things are starting to warm up a bit - and before your lilies have started growing back too much. Some people would recommend dividing your water lilies every year, but I don’t think that’s practical or necessary for most people (unless you’re a pond nut like me), but after awhile you WILL have to divide your lily rhizome as it outgrows its current pot or planting container. A good way to determine if your water lily needs dividing is if it’s not blooming or producing nearly as many pads as normal. What can happen is the root (or rhizome) has become so overgrown that it has essentially run out of room in the pot, and can’t effectively absorb nutrients to grow. Fortunately, it’s easy to remedy this problem - and you’ll most likely wind up with several new lilies to plant, or give away to friends. The first thing to do is to remove the pot, and dig up the rhizome from the pot. Notice how the root has become twisted and overgrown. All you need to do in order to refresh and invigorate the plant is to either cut or break off and remove several sections of the root/rhizome to create a better root to soil ratio, letting the root more effectively absorb waterborne nutrients. You’ll be left with several new sections or baby lilies that you can then re-plant and grow into new plants of their own. Now we’ll take a look at how to fertilize your lilies (new and old) to make sure they’re ready for Spring and Summer, and to make sure they’ll keep blooming and growing all season long. Here’s a trick I use to fertilize my lilies quickly and easily… Have a fairly wide tipped flathead screwdriver nearby, and then use it to punch a clear path into the soil and through the existing roots. Then give it a good twisting to hollow out your hole. You’d be surprised how hard it can be to push a fertilizer tab down into a dense root pack - so try this next time and tell me if it isn’t 100% easier. Now that you have your ‘holes’ dug - take 3-4 water lily fertilizer tabs out (we like the Tetra Pond fertilizer tabs), and push them down into the holes with your index finger. That’s it — you’re done! Once fertilized, you’re ready to replant and put back in the pond. It’s a good idea to add some more ‘fresh’ soil (never potting soil), which I usually just dig up from the yard. Adding fresh soil will usually re-energize the plant, and give it some more room for its new roots to develop. I recommend a good 2″-3″ of new dirt right on top. Similarly, with your new Rhizome cuttings - plant them in a new container with some fresh soil on the bottom, and then covered by some more fresh dirt (around 1″ for new cuttings). Use a shallow planter for the new cuttings, just to get them started. Once they start to grow again, move them to a deeper pot with more dirt. Add some gravel on top, to keep you fish from burrowing in the dirt (as koi are known to do), but only a thin layer of pea gravel — anything too deep will make it difficult for the new lily pads to ‘push’ through. On existing lilies - I prefer to use the mesh bags for my lilies. They seem to allow a better absorption on nutrients from the pond water and I like the fact that I can cut holes in the corners and cable tie them over the dirt - to also keep the koi from ‘burrowing’ in the dirt. You can find these at most nurseries and water garden centers. Here’s another trick I use - Don’t just drop the pot back into the pond, as trapped air bubbles can sometimes uproot the lily or some soil. This is especially true for new pottings, as the soil has not been properly ’set’. Here’s what I do: Lower the pot into the water, just enough to fill it with water, then raise back up out of the water until you see all the air bubbles disappear. Do this a few more times, until you think you’ve removed all the air bubbles from the pot. Then slowly lower it down into the pond. There’s nothing more frustrating than having a newly potted lily (or any plant) suddenly lift up out of the pot, dumping dirt all over the pond, and having to be repotted. It’s happened to me more than once… Brett Fogle is the owner of MacArthur Water Gardens and several other pond-related websites including www.MacArthurWatergardens.com and www.Pond-Filters-Online.com He also publishes a free monthly newsletter called PondStuff! with a reader circulation of over 9,000. The Window Of Opportunity

Sunday, September 16th, 2007

By Robert Torrey You are only given so many opportunities in your lifetime. The longer you wait to take each one, the more likely it is for that window to close. Suppose you are in a position to approach somebody new you are attracted to. First impressions count as they make a big difference. The longer you wait, the smaller your window gets. Eventually if you wait to long your window of opportunity will close. There are many opportunities in life. Some are worth pursuing. The most important opportunity of all is one that everybody has looked through at some point in their life. This is the window of opportunity. Visualize, if you will, an event that can change your lifefor the better! This is the challenge you have been looking for take it, when it arrives. How often have we looked through this window and let something slip through our grasp, yet all we had to do with put a small amount of effort on it? Next time you see something you really want. Go after it immediately if the timing is right. On certain things the longer you wait the harder it becomes to attain. When we are teaching a dating confidence workshop we teach our students to go immediately towards whoever it is they find attractive. The longer the student waits to go talk with the person the less spontaneous it seems and the reaction starts to turn from extremely positive towards neutral and then eventually negative. When though somebody takes action like we teach them, and jumps through that window of opportunity before it closes. They usually have a great interaction.Take chances.
